Msdewey.com – Search Engine Interactive Way?

Mind imagining Google have two South-Californian girls posing or rather “interacting” just as you do your search on the site.

Or Yahoo flashing videos or songs for differerent kinds of searches you perform on their site.

Well, there is one with similar ideas here. NO, they din’t steal my idea! But I am spreading theirs. I meant I am trying to tell you about our new age intereactive search engine.

Well, the guys who designed www.msdewey.com seem to have got it just right. The search engine features a human guide, played by Indian/Dutch actress Janina Gavankar. 

Although the video is a little jerky and search engine isn’t very good, it is certainly very interesting. As for search results, you’d do better visiting Google – but honestly, other search engines aren’t even half as interesting.

Microsoft has quietly launched a Live.com powered engine called MsDewey.com.This flash based search engine offers a semi-interactive search hostess named MS Dewey who chides, jokes, has an interest in Halo, and more.

Obviously the interface for this version of the MS Live Engine has an appeal to certain demographics, and it is slowly being spread through blogs, news sites, and social bookmarking sites.

While I don’t think that the MSDewey interface is much more useful than the normal Live.com search, it may be a sign of things to come in 20 years. In the future, you may find that the new ‘toolbar’ that you install from Yahool, Googlezon or a future MSDewey-like web site might use a software agent.

A software agent would already know or learn from your online search habits, follow your interests, and work to provide truly customized search results with intuitive search suggestions rather than simply presenting a novel user interface.

Initially, I thought that this site is simply an attempt at link bait. Yes, it worked!
