My Airfare Secrets : 7 Little Known Secrets to Save on Flight Ticket
Secret 1: Direct Flight & Connecting Flights
Nonstop flights will always cost more than connecting flights that require a change of planes. Nonstop flights are, of course, much more convenient for the traveler, hence the reason why they are more expensive. If you are looking to sacrifice convenience for savings, fly in connecting flights. -
A round trip plane ticket will always save you more money than two one-way tickets.
Secret 2: Best Time to Fly!
Most people who fly on a business trip will begin their flight some time between 9 AM and 5 PM. Those who fly for personal purposes are more likely to fly at extreme times of the day. If you book your flight at an inconvenient time of the day (anywhere that isn?t between 9 AM and 5 PM, you are more likely to receive a cheaper ticket.
THE SOLUTION: Don’t book your flight between 9 AM and 5 PM. You will end up with a more expensive ticket.
Secret 3: Tuesdays & Wednesdays are cheap!
People who are traveling for the purpose of a business will usually not stay over for a weekend. Business travelers often travel on one of the weekdays, usually on a Monday. People who travel for personal purposes are more likely to stay over for a weekend Saturday and Sunday night. As a result, airlines are more likely to provide you a better deal if you stay over for a weekend.
THE SOLUTION: If it is possible, book your flight so that you will stay over for a Saturday and/or Sunday. Try to avoid flying on a Monday or Friday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the cheapest days to fly.
Secret 4: Book your ticket the day after a major holiday!
The time of year that you make your reservation is also quite crucial in determining the ticket?s cost. If you reserve your flight for a couple days just before the Christmas holiday, you?re going to be surprised just how sky-high the ticket is going to be. After the major holidays come to pass, airlines will lower their fare prices. As a result, you will be eligible for a cheaper ticket if you book your flight right after the major holidays.
THE SOLUTION: If you are flying for a non-holiday related purpose, try to book your flight the day after Christmas or Thanksgiving. Airfare prices drop significantly on these two days.
Secret 5: When prices drops after you bought the ticket.
Sometimes tickets will lower from the time you bought your ticket. THE SOLUTION: If you realize the ticket of your flight has been reduced since the day you purchased it, give the airline a call to discuss that situation. Most definitely they will refund you with the difference in your purchase. Airline companies profit millions every year from those who don?t check back on their ticket prices after purchase. Even better, sometimes airlines will offer you free vouchers toward future ticket purchases if you ask.
Secret 6: Alternative routes can save you a bundle off your ticket
THE SOLUTION: Always check for alternate routing. For example, if you need to fly into London, you may try a flight to Gatwick or Manchester instead of London. International trips with connecting flights are likely to have alternative routes available that can be less costly than other routes.
Secret 7: Best places to buy flight tickets
THE SOLUTION: You should always choose to buy your ticket at a 3rd party website rather than off of the airline?s website. The reason for this is that with 3rd party sites, many airlines will offer tickets simultaneously, and as a result raise a lot of competition, forcing airlines to lower their prices. Competition is always good for the consumer.
These are the few tricks majority of the people ignore while booking a air ticket (you too?)
How did I learn these secret?
From a fired guy who worked for a travel agency company for 16 years…Eventually, he ended up writing a 89 page guide about “saving on flight ticket” This is the best “money saving guide of the year” I read… no fluffs or fillers… not the same old rehashed info like “book your ticket early” types of information which everyone knows about.
It costs $24.95, but worth every penny. You’ll get back lot more than $24.95 just booking one ticket after reading this guide.

It seems with the price of fuel rising that even these tips might not help as much. However, I will keep these in mind when I buy my next airline ticket (in about a month).
Aren’t these all just “no-shit” kind of statements?
Are there more testimonials around the site?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last ten years, everything in this book rates a “Duh”.
Fred M,
Thanks for your feedback. I would love more information from you, especially why you thought this ebook is crap. I read the book and honestly think that this ebook can definitely save few bucks (also few hundreds if spend 1000′s) on air ticket. I’m not a frequent air traveler. Plus I’ve some awesome offer on my prestigious VISA platinum and Signature card
Obviously hiring a private jet service may be a little too expensive for many, or is it. Saving money on a flight is more in terms of added value rather than just cost. If you have ever thought about the efficiency of your commercial airline flight you should be astonished at how many things they could do better to decrease the time it takes to get you from point A to point B.
If you purchased a nonrefundable ticket, most airlines will not refund you the money even if the price drops, or if they do, they will first charge you a hefty “change fee” of $100 or more.
These are not secrets, well they may have been 10 years ago. No. 1 does not always apply now, direct flights can be cheaper, I went to Cuba with Virgin direct from London and it was cheapest flight I could get and without all the hassle of changing in Paris or Lisbon. Air Asia can be cheaper to book 2 single flights than a return because of tax charges. Some Airline websites are now cheaper or as cheap as 3rd party sellers. The biggest saving now seems to be book early to get the first seats, last minute seats do not seem so readily available any more.
