Quick wordpress tips:save before publishing!

Save your post before publishing WordPress and improve productivity!

This tip is going to be very quick and useful. No matter which computer you are using or web mastering skills. Before publishing anything on your wordpress (or other) blog please save it as a draft first; or better save it on a notepad!

Today my wife spent around 3 hours writing an article on wordpres editor; she didn’t save her post either on blog or externallly (like notepad or MS word) After finishing the article she clickedon "Publish" button. At the same time my webiste host were doing some database upgrade. So the connection to the databse failed…t

The end result?

My wife’s 3 hours work gone!

And she started moaning at me!

Further pain: Today afternoon I was upgrading my wordpress version on one of my other blog… and guess what?

Everything corrupted!

I reinstalled older version of wordpress; Current version and New Beta version

Nothing works…getting blank screen…

Lesson learned.

  • Before publishing a post…ALWAYS make a backup
  • Before upgrading ALWAYS backup your old version
