Webhosting Pad- Cheap But Not Reliable

Webhosting Pad Review: Sucks Man- Unacceptable Downtime!

I think I should have written reviews of various WebHosting services I personally used earlier. But somehow I missed it… shame on me. I personally tried over 30 hosting companies, but I only use aroud 14-15 now.

My criteria for selecting a hosting provider is very simple

  1. Should be reliable
  2. Should be affordable
  3. Should have 24/7 live telephone and text chat help. (Obviously you don’t want to submit a support ticket and wait for 48 hours when your site is down!)

Some companies are really CRAP and they have no idea what the hell they are doing. WebhostingPad.com is one among them! They have unbearable downtime issues.

If you look around the internet you’ll see both negative and positive customer reviews for almost every hosting providers.

In my opinion you won’t have any problem with most of the companies if you use your site for legitimate purpose. Your shared hosting would get suspended mainly when you use too much resources (IE, creating automatic junk websites using CRON-Job etc)

Around 6 months back I opted for Webhosting Pad (WHP) to host some of my niche sites which I specially created for “site flipping” (buying and selling website) purpose. Sofar my experience has been NOT good. Few months back they had serious downtime issues which was above the industry standard. Although they fixed it again today their Name-Server is down

Webhosting Pad Features at Glance:

  • Unlimited Disk Space and Bandwidth
  • Free Domain name ability to host unlimited domain names
  • Unlimited POP and IMAP Email, autorespondeers, email forwarders, databases, sub domains,
  • CGI-Bin, SSI, free Site builder and Frontpage extension available.
  • Has Spam assassin, Fatastico, webstats, storage backup felicity.
  • Supports streming audio/video, macromedia Shockwave/Flash

They have real 24/7 toll-free ans live text chat support.

Cost:

$1.99 per month if you pay for 3 years upfront; $2.75 for 2 years and $4.95 per month if paid annually.

Should I buy Webhostingpad.com?

I say BIG NO! I don’t even recommend it for hobby websites (forget doing business)

A Better Alternative:

I’ve been a BIG fan of Hostgator since 2005. They are not as cheap as WHP… but 100% reliable.

I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.

  2. I guess that there are two sides to every tale
I have worked with this firm and if anything they are more than top tier
I have had tech support issues a number of times , both the time it takes to answer and the level of sophistication of their answers was a lot better and more comprehensive than most hosting firms that i have dealt with
for the most part i would place them at far above average
Most of the monthly / yearly fee hosting firms with support are ok
This firm appeared to be better than the majority
Its all personal preference and experience i guess
Every company has its bad day , its a matter of consistency

I understand that they provide good customer support. But their downtime was simply unacceptable. But no hosting company will compensate for lost business! I left Webhostingpad.com mainly because there are many other better and cheaper player around :)

Hey Thanks nice review I was going to switch servers because they were really cheap but I was afraid that would be case. I had a 1.99 server before and I accidentally deleted all my data and asked them if they had server backup and NO RESPONSE! not even the expected no. I use bestbusinesshost.com now and I never have any problems they are faster than hostgator and more professional at a fraction of the cost.

  4. Webhostingpad.com was suspend my account, about 10 hours ago and its no answer from them why they did it. I host with them for 10 month and service was just.. i mean JUST ok, but now… i will 100% transfer my site to other hoster as soon as they give me access to my account. Webhostingpad.com is shit and crap. They took to many customers becouse they cheap, and now they just cant b bothered about each one. My site will probably go away from google index, i ll lose traffic and money. I hate Webhostingpad. (sorry for mistakes, english not my first lang..)

I can’t speak for some of the other hosting companies but I agree wholeheartedly with you on Host Gator. They have been around long enough and invested enough that they are reliable. In essence, they have gone through all the growing pains that the others are just now going through.

If I had to state a minor annoyance with Host Gator it would be that if you are working with their reseller hosting, you cannot give clients their own cpanel (or I haven’t figured out how to do it). I don’t have that many clients that I need to worry about this but if that is your business model (to have multiple clients) it’s something you should speak with Host Gator about before signing up.

    Best

I have my site with webhostingpad.com they suspended my account because i’m getting too many traffic beside they make me remove all my modules.
    Please stay away from webhostingpad.com.
Webhostingpad.com is cheap but the service is not good, they keep suspending your site for not real reason sometimes because you are using too many proccessor or you are having too many traffic to your site.
Don’t believe webhosting unlimited advertisement, it’s not true.

My site which is host with Webhostingpad has been bad. Constantly down and the response has been unreliable. I would advise all people against using webhostingpad. The support has been absolutely poor. They never answer the phone and they never respond to your comments on the live chat. They just leave you there once the live chat has been activated and the live chat session automatically ends. I am looking to change immediately.
