FamilyMoment.com- Your Family’s Virtual Home

How about having a e-journal? Or a blog-o-journal for your whole family?

Here’s Mom, Dad, and the kids sitting around a table after dinner. (On the left.) It’s just another snapshot taken by a friend. But look at the painted portrait (on the right) to see how this everyday photo becomes a work of art. All the distracting elements are painted out. Even the stray strands of hair that were out of place have been painted properly. In addition, they were repositioned for a tighter composition.

Well, I’m not describing a painting but a website that can be personalized at the family level.

When you first look at the name FamilyMoment.com, you think OK this is going to be a site about bringing families together, or something that relates to the family. Well it is not. It is about family, but about building your own web page about your family. The small downside may be, people will open up this page and then instantly close it because it looks like nothing but banners. I myself almost closed it thinking I had the wrong page, but then I looked around and saw the offer for a free web page on the right side of the page.

The site has it’s good points. You do get a free web site with tools to help you build it. You also get a family forum which can be public or private, free email, headline news available 24 hours, weather on the hour, stock quotes, game rooms, e-greetings, daily horoscopes and maps all for the low cost of FREE.

And that’s not all, you get your own chatroom, a family tree for you to build, a family album that you can upload your pictures to and show off to all you family and friends, and so much more. Recently they have introduced the Public Family Forum. Having all the private, happy moments with your own family, you probably would like to share some of them with others.

Whether it’s to share favorite recipe, offer a handy hint for home improvement, express an opinion on parenting, or to seek help, you can now have your say in public. Public Family Forum is an on-line community where you can freely discuss and exchange information with others in public.

The “family” can be spread wider by your inviting friends in. Alternatively, you can set up separate sites, to which you can invite friends or colleagues to discuss matters of common interest, chat, post messages make plans, keep track of events and so on.

Some members will find it desirable to have more than one family site, for different branches of the family. This is not a problem. Simply login and follow the B.Y.O. (Build Your Own) or “Visit Your Other Families” link. Within one minute, you will have another new family web site. All the families, which you either joined or created, will be listed as your favorite families under your login ID.

You can also test drive the site before you completely go and make a full blown site. Once you have decided to keep your site, they have a great mail system that tells your friends all about the great website you have made, no hassles at all.

I know there are a lot of free web spaces that are offered all around the net these days. I can honestly say that at FamilyMoment.com, it is one of the easiest webpage builders I have tried out.
